Screen flickers due to large desktop area not compatible with monitor.
Cause:
The desktop resolution is set too high. This may cause screen flicker.
Solution:
Double-click 'Display' in the 'Control Panel' window and move the slider on the 'Settings' tabbed page to the left to display less desktop.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)

3) Double-click the 'Display' icon. (The 'Display Properties' dialog box appears.)

4) Click the 'Settings' tab. (The 'Settings' tabbed page appears.)
5) Drag the slider for the 'Desktop Area' resolution to the left.

NOTE: This increases the size of the desktop.
6) Click 'Apply'. (A 'Display Properties' dialog box appears confirming the size change process.)
7) Click 'OK'. (The size change takes place and a 'Monitor Settings' dialog box appears.)
